14-19 years. $180 for six sessions. Tuesdays (6-8 pm).
The 2-day course, Self-Regulation: Pathways to Learning (sproutot.com/self-regulation/) held on Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20, 2017 will explore the elements of self-regulation and its profound influence upon learning. Strategies will be introduced to help understand and support complex behaviours such as varying activity levels, emotional regulation difficulties, and executive function skills such as attention, impulse control and information retention. All are welcome with intended audience being educators (teachers, EAs, ECEs, learning resource consultants), therapists, consultants, mental health staff and parents.
There will also be a separate parent workshop, entitled Sensational Parenting (sproutot.com/sensational-parenting/) on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 1-4pm. Sensational Parenting is a 3-hour workshop designed for parents and caregivers of children and adults with self-regulation and sensory processing challenges. The focus is on understanding that we are all doing the best we can with what we have. Attunement, regulation, and sensory strategies at home and in the community will all be discussed.
