Developmental Services Ontario Eastern Region (DSOER)
If you or someone in your family has a developmental disability, now it is easier to find out about the support you need.
Starting July 1, 2011, there is a single point of access for all adult developmental services funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS). This is Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) or DSOER if you live in the Eastern Region.
- only one place to apply
- the same set of rules and tools for everyone (eligibility and evaluation)
Why have a single point of access? How is this easier?
The plan is to make it a better system that is fair for adults with developmental disabilities and their families to get the right support they need – now and later.
Today, DSOER can:
- let you know what services and support are available to you in your community;
- find out about the services you need and what you can have;
- match the right resource to your needs.
In the future, individuals receiving ministry funds can get help from DSOER to manage this money.
